Plakoto
Plakoto is part of the Tavli series of backgammon games that are popular in Greece. The two other games are Portes and Fevga.
This game is also played in Bulgaria where it's known as Tapa.
Before the game
Each player has fifteen checkers on the opponent's one-point.
The object of the game is to move the checkers around to the player's own home board and then to bear them off, just like it is in regular backgammon.
The game
The game starts with each player rolling one die. The player who has the highest number goes first. If another game was played previous to this specific game, the winner in the last game starts first.
A player moves his checkers according to the result of the dice that he rolled. A player cannot move his checkers to an occupied point if it has two or more checkers. Doubles are played twice.
Bearing off the checkers
After all the checkers have been moved into the player's home board, he can start to bear them off.
Winning
The player who bore off all of his fifteen checkers wins the game. If the losing player left with only one checker on his board, he loses only one point. If he stays with more than one checker, he loses two points.
There is no doubling in this plakoto and a doubling cube isn't in use.
