Cryptologic loses and gains customers

Casino software developer Cryptologic had an up and down week when a contract was signed with Overseas Internet Gaming Entertainment and dropped with the UK-based Ritz Club Online. Wagerlogic,The software development arm of Cryptologic, confirmed that the Ritz Club Online will stop using it's casino software in October 2006 but added that this move will have no material impact on the company's revenues. Earlier this week, Cryptologic share racked up over 10% after the software developer announced that they extended a contract with its largest customer Overseas Internet Gaming Entertainment NV until June 2012. Concern about teen gambling

With the resurgent popularity of Internet and mobile gambling games, many people are being concerned about teen gambling. National statistics show that near 2% of the population are gambling addicts but there is no hard data about the percentage of youth in it. A study by the University of Florida found that about 70% of teens between 13 and 17 experienced with gambling during their lifetime. The study also found that drinking and drug abuse were also associated with teenage gambling. Between 1 to 5 percent of teenagers are estimated to develop gambling addiction yet not all teenagers who enjoy gambling from time to time might fall into problem gambling. Turning Stone's poker room expands

The Poker Room at the Oneida Indian Nation’s Turning Stone Resort and Casino has returned to its original location near the Bingo Hall main entrance, and is now bigger and more elegant than it ever was. The new Poker Room is 50 percent larger, housing 32 tables with room for up to 320 players. Jason DiBenedetto, the Poker Direcotr or the casino, said that the changes were needed to keep up with the player demand. The new room can accommodate more regular players while tournaments are played in the resort’s various other facilities.
The poker room new design evokes the elegant card clubs of old while providing all the amenities today’s players expect like our 65-inch, flat-panel television monitors that show player lists, allowing the players to track their position on the list from anywhere in the room. 1st hotel casino in Tucson

The new Desert Diamond casino will be the first ever hotel casino in Tucson Arizona. The new casino was built by the Tohono O'odham Nation next to an old casino on the Nogales Highway. The property will have a hotel, conference center and restaurants besides the casinos. The new hotel casino will not stay alone for a long time, since the Salt River Indian Community are planning to build another casino hotel to replace Casino Arizona at the Talking Stick's temporary facilities northeast of Indian Bend Road. Harrah's Inc. is also searching for a lodging facility next to their Phoenix Ak-Chin casino resort. The Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation also opened a Radisson last November.
