New Korean technology can upgrade casinos functioning using a new designed electronic gaming chips. The electronic chip allows gamblers and the casino to count exactly how many chips they are betting on using a technology called Radio Frequency Identification (RFID). Using the RFID technology, the electronics chips can send a signal to nearby computers while the output will be displayed on the screen, showing how many chips are stacked on specific areas or numbers on the table.
The electronic chips will have tiny metal chips embedded into them and they will have the ability to be tracked by the RFID system. The result will be an exact control on the betting by the casino and the gamblers. ... Read More
Casino is being fined for pollution

Thunder Valley Casino, located about 30 miles northeast of Sacramento, CA is being fined $435,000 for polluting streams with inadequately treated sewage. Thunder Valley Casino, operated by the United Auburn Indian Tribe, was fined $3,000 for each time of the 145 cases in which they violated the regulations during the last 3 years, since the casino was opened. Prosecutors claim that wastewater flowing out of the casino's sewage contained concentrations of bacteria that exceeded the state's health limits and that the casino failed to report recurring breakdowns of its water disinfection system and this is why the casino was fined with the minimum penalty under the new state law. The president of Guyana claims that casino would justify investments in hotel building the country.
Local Christian leaders in Guyana protest against allowing casino in the country. The President Bharrat Jagdeo said that only casino gambling can attract visitors and justify investments in the tourist industry.
Pastor Marlon Hestick said that casino gambling might increase corruption and gambling related crimes in the community. The president Jagdeo said at a meeting with Christian leaders on Friday that he does not plan to develop a big gambling industry.
According to Jagdeo, there is a proposal to build a 14-story hotel. He claimed that the only way the 70 million dollars investment can be justified is by allowing casinos. Edson has become the venue of continuous poker tournaments that are attracting many locals hoping to win some quick bucks. Workers like Gabe Klewchuck that reside in Edson become poker players every weekend in Edmonton and cash big money. Klewchuck won 3,000 dollars in a recent poker tournament.
Residents perceive poker tables as a more social way of gambling than casinos. They like the reputation they acquire as good lucky players in the area. The fact most of them like about these tournaments is that playing against the house means no one loses. When the player wins he gets a good sum of money home, while when the house plays charities win a good amount of money for their social pursues.
Casinos and licensed clubs also host charity nights, where part of the revenue goes to a certain charity organization. What is true is that games attract people. Everyone wants to win and if charity is behind all this even more.
