All backgammon players that have joined the professional sphere need to learn a good number of backgammon advanced terms. Here, we have posted some of the most frequently asked terms among new professional players.
California Rule
The winner of an opening roll can reroll dices by turning the cube to 2.
Cocked Dice
When a dice does not land properly on the board the roll is disqualified and the player must throw the pair of dices again.
Crunch
When a player has no choice and has to evacuate his checkers to his home board.
Full Prime
Six consecutive points that block the opponent's escape.
Guff
One-point.
Head-to-Head
Matches played for real money.
In the Air
When checkers are placed on the bar.
Kibitz
To watch a game or comment it being heard by players.
Rim
Another way to call the bar.
Stone
Another way to call a checker.
Stroke
Deliberate illegal play.
Underdog
The potential loser of the game.
